Corrupted Files – A1 Word Editor (iPhone & iPad)

If a document won’t open in A1 Word Editor and you see a message saying the file is corrupted, try these first-aid steps:

1. Force-quit and relaunch the app

Close A1 Word Editor from the multitasking view, then reopen it.

Clears temporary glitches that may block the file from rendering.

2. Restart your device

Power-cycle your iPhone or iPad.

Frees system memory the PDF renderer relies on.

3 Open the same file in Apple Preview (or Files)

• Save the PDF locally if it lives in the cloud.
• Tap to open it in the built-in viewer.
• Return to A1 Word Editor and try again.

Preview uses the same iOS Word engine. Forcing it to render the file there can “unstick” whatever prevented it from loading before.

4 Re-download or re-import

If the file is in Dropbox, Google Drive, etc., delete the local copy and download it again.

A partial or interrupted download often masquerades as corruption.

5 Reinstall A1 Word Editor (last resort)

Back up unsynced files, delete the app, reinstall from the App Store, then re-import the Word.

Re-installs a fresh copy of the rendering engine in case the app itself was damaged.

  3. Include a brief description of what you’ve tried so far.
